As a wedding photographer, I am privileged to capture one of the most intimate and cherished days in a couple’s life. My goal is to capture the genuine emotions and unique moments that make your day unforgettable. I know many couples like to provide shot lists to ensure every detail is captured, but here’s why I prefer to approach your wedding day a little differently.

Preserving Authentic Moments

Weddings are filled with spontaneous emotions and unplanned interactions that make each celebration special. Whether it’s the nervous excitement before the ceremony or the heartfelt embraces with loved ones, these are the moments that tell your story authentically. Following a strict shot list can sometimes detract from the spontaneity of these moments, as it directs attention away from what is truly happening around us.

Experience and Expertise

With over 100 weddings captured, I’ve developed an intuitive sense of the essential elements that make each wedding day special. From the tender exchanges between the couple to the shared laughter among friends and family, these are moments I’ve learned to anticipate and cherish. Rest assured, I have a mental checklist of those classic and essential shots—from the ceremony, wedding party groups, and on to the first dance—that are integral to your wedding story.

Unleashing Creativity

Photography is not just about snapping photos; it’s an art form that thrives on creativity and spontaneity. By not adhering strictly to a shot list, I have the freedom to explore unique perspectives and capture the essence of your wedding day in a way that reflects your style and personality. This approach allows me to deliver photos that are as unique as your love story.

A Personalized Approach

Your wedding day is as unique as your love story. By not adhering strictly to a shot list, I am able to offer a more personalized experience tailored to your specific wishes and the dynamics of your day. While I may not follow a checklist, I do encourage communication. I welcome your input on any important elements or individuals you wish to have highlighted in your photos. This ensures that every significant detail is captured, while allowing me the flexibility to weave these moments seamlessly into the narrative of your day.

Family Portraits and Special Requests

One area where I do appreciate specific guidance is in family portraits. I always request a list of family groupings and names in advance. This ensures that no one is inadvertently left out, and it allows me to efficiently coordinate these portraits so that you can spend more time enjoying your celebration.

Ultimately, my aim is to create a relaxed and enjoyable photography experience that captures the true spirit of your wedding day. By focusing on authentic moments and embracing creativity, I believe we can create photos that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
